1: Take a walk together These might sound simple, but can be very romantic when done properly. Sometimes we girls don't want much, just  being alone with you is enough. Taking a walk together also helps strength your relationship, you get to discuss the things that matters in your relationship. 2: Go watch a movie together Having a movie night together can be so romantic, it doesn't necessarily have to be a cinema, what matters is that you are together. How to make a guy propose to you

In Nigeria where I come from, getting married is a big deal. For every girl, marriage is seen as the highest achievement you can have. Every Saturday thousands of girls get married, and thousands are struggling to get married. Finding a guy that is ready for marriage is the tough part, they are never ready for marriage. There are Salome things that you can do to get a ring on that finger, as fast as you want it. 1: put on your best behavior This truck has been known to work for generations, you just have to know how to use it. Before a guy puts a ring, he has to be sure that he is not carrying problem, believe me no guy wants headache in his marriage. If you want to get married soon, you have to learn to be more understanding, and tolerant. 2: make his friends your friends these is another trick that has been known to work, tested and proven. You don't even have to like them, you just have to create the impression that you do. If you can get his friends on your side, half of

Can someone call 911 for me

I remember, some months back I met this guy on Facebook, he seem cool and nice looking. Well after months of constant charting, the usual getting to know each other. Everything seem perfect, so we decided to meet. It was going to be a lunch date in a very nice restaurant in Lagos, I was very excited because I had never been to a fancy place like that. Long story short, I finally got to meet this guy in person, that day turned out to be my worst.  The last hour of what was suppose to be a lunch date turn into a business meeting, this guy couldn't stop talking about his job, it was is if I wasn't even there, I felt so invincible. With a smile on my face I tried to play along hoping that it would end, but he just kept going on and on. Then the worst happened, he placed his hand on mine and said "baby can we go to the hotel room now". In my mine I was like "which time I plan hotel room with you, I am not even dating you yet". I suddenly felt like using the to

Getting married

If you are a lover of romance movies, you would agree with me that getting married is something that appears so beautiful, every girl out there would give anything to have a feeling like that. I love wedding ceremonies a lot, but not just for the food, I love the part where the bride walks in and all attention is on her. In my many years of following this tradition, I have realize that much emphasis seems to be made on the wedding ceremony, but not on the marriage itself. As a Nigerian, you would agree with me that the way Nigerian ladies, carry this marriage thing is something else. Pre wedding this, pre wedding that. The major concerned seem to be on the wedding ceremony, having a perfect celebration, pleasing the guest, outing up a perfect picture for the world to see. I am not against anyone having a beautiful wedding, your dream day, but in the mist of all the celebration, you should not forget that there is still so much work to be done. Our present generation is filled with

Five ways to get a rich guy

With the rate at which the world is changing, the desire for the fine things of life is on the rise, and no one wants to suffer. Girls would do anything just to get a rich guy to pay the bills. Anyways, these are sure five ways to get a rich guy.  1. Be classy Forget fairytales, the rich don't go for people that are not in their class. The high and mighty in the society would not take a second look at you if you are just an ordinary person, you have to appear presentable, and sleek well. So do whatever you have to do to get the desire attention.  2. Attend the gathering of the rich You don't expect to sit at home and expect a rich guy to knock at your door, my dear this is not Disney land. In order to attract a rich guy, you have to go to where you can actually find one. Go for music shows, big clubs, wherever you know the big boys are bound to attend go.  3. Have a rich friend Another way to attract rich guys is to tag along with a rich friend. Even if you hav

Should I call him first

Every girl in this part of the world have probably asked this question at one point in time, "should i call him back. " You meet a guy for the first time, you both click, you exchange numbers, and as a naija babe you are expecting him to call you back but he doesn't. First you thought maybe he forgot, but then it's been a week now and you are asking yourself if you should call him first. In Nigeria, when a girl finds herself in this kind of situation you hear stuff like, you are going to  appear cheap and desperate, he is not going to respect you, a guy is suppose to be the one calling, and so many other trash. The truth is that many things could have prevented him from calling you back, it could be that he forgot, it be that he misplaced your number, it could also be that he is not that into you. Whatever the case may be, one thing I know for sure is that a guy  would not take is time to approach a lady, collect her number and not be interested in something. So g

Why do ladies stay in abusive relationship

Many times we wounder why women stay in abusive relationship, why they allow their man abuse them. We look at them and judge, without understanding how difficult I can be to break up with an abusive partner. There are so many reasons why one sticks to an abusive partner.  1: fear This is the number one reason why women stay in abusive relationship. The fear of what might happen to them if the leave. I don't bleam them for this, as an abusive partner can be very dangerous.  2: embarrassment  Most people in abusive relationship are afraid of what people would say if they leave. Most people in this kind of relationship were probably warned from the beginning, because if this they are ashamed of what people would say. They feel embarrassed to come out.  3: lack of confidence  probably due to years of abuse, they conclude that there is nothing better out there for them and just decide to stay. Most times the abuser make them to believe that they can't do without him

Loving your body regardless of the size

Being a female is not an easy job, the society expects so much from us including having a body size which they consider perfect. When you are fat it becomes a problem, if you are slim it is also a problem, they create a perfect picture in their minds which they want us to fit into. What people don't understand is that no one has control of how their body size turn out. Some of us find it easy to add weight while others don't. I have seen someone who lives from one drug to another trying to add weight, all because the society especially this part of the world does not accept her body size. The worst of it all is they see you and ask you if you don't eat, not knowing the struggles you go through everyday. I personally have had sad moments when people assume that am a teenager, I go to the market and hear stuff like "smalli". Initially, it use to annoy me but I have learnt to ignore it and be happy. Yes people would always judge you, you can't please everyone,

Five signs that he is stalking you

According to vocabulary.Com, the term stalker describes a person who follows a particular individual obsessively. A stalker can be a male or a female, old or young, there is no exception. Stalkers are usually obsessed with their victim and can go to any length to be close to them. Initially, having someone follow you around all the time might seem ok, but stalkers can be dangerous and as sure should  not be ignored. How do you know you have a stalker, here are five ways to tell. 1: you see him/her everywhere you go. When you keep seeing a particular person everywhere you go then there is a problem. Once or twice might be a coincidence, but the third time you find he/she around, it is definitely not an accident. 2: unwanted gifts when you start receiving gifts continuously from an unknown source, then my dear you've got a  stalker. 3: threat messages when you start receiving threat messages from someone you don't know, I think it's time you call the police. 4: bel

What should I do

Marian is a young girl in her early 20s, she has been in a relationship with Steve for a year now. Marian loves Steve very much and would do everything to make him happy, but of recent Steve has changed, he no longer cares about her and has been hitting her, he beats her at every opportunity he has got. She says that he use to so loving and caring and does not understand what is going on, she wants to know what to do about the situation.  What do I have to say about this  I believe that every relationship out there has got his own problems, no body is perfect. All relationships always start up sweet and then we start facing challenges. It is how we deal with these challenges that make our relationship. In your case it is obvious you love your boyfriend and you are willing to make it work, then again you mentioned that your boyfriend is hiring you, which is something that should never be tolerated. Any guy that lays his hands on a lady is an animal and does not deserve her. I adv

Stop dating and get married

I was a born into a world where romance is the order of the day, on tv, in books, practically everywhere you find yourself relationship is being promoted in one way or the order. The question i have asked myself is "why do people go into a relation", "is there really any need for all that". first of all a dating period is suppose to be a period of getting to know each other prio to marriage, from what we see in our present society is this true. If we would be honest with ourselves we would admit that in the world we live in today, when two people go into a relationship there are only two things involved, sex and money. Now one is truly interested about getting to know the other person better. My point is why should a girl put up her best performers just to please a guy, or a guy rehears his best line for a lady all for the name of relationship. I think we should jut go back to the traditional and most decent way of things, just stay in  your father's house a

Love is a scam

Every day we see a picture of what we are made to believe is love through the internet, movies and even music videos. Movies have made us to believe that two people actually go crazy for each other. There are so many romantic books out there that says all things about love, and make you wounder if truly such a feeling exist. The worst of it is the media throwing at our faces pictures of pre wedding and wedding of couples everyday, which is all just a show off.  Now l am talking about the romantic aspect of love, where two people are believe to have strong affection for each other and want to be together. We are made to believe that once a guy see a lady for the first time some kind of magic happens and he suddenly wants to be with her, the same goes for the lady. Here is the thing I don't believe in that shit, there is no supernatural power at work here. This is what happens, a guy meets a girl for the first time he sees something he likes, probarbly from the front or from the b

Five signs that he likes you

Is there a guy out there who you like and you are woundering if he likes you to. Most times we girls can tell when a guy likes us and is about to ask us out, but sometimes we are ignorant of the signs. We go about searching for love in the wrong places. Well this are five sure ways to know that a guy is into you. 1: eye contact A guy who likes you would always try to make eye contact with you, this is his own way of telling you that he is about to make a move. 2: over friendliness when a guy likes a lady and he is thinking of asking her out, he suddenly becomes friendly with her and starts doing favours for her. This us normally done to create a good picture of his self to the said lady. 3: becoming friends with your friends when a guy is interested in a lady he starts to make friends with her friends. This is done to get approval from them when he finally makes his move 4: follows you around You see him doing the things you like to do, he starts to attend places you like t

Should I move in with my boyfriend

Moving in with your boyfriend is not an easy thing to do especially in this part of the world. I personally don't believe in that, but who are my to judge. Here in Nigeria when a girl moves in with a man she is not married to she is being seen as bad and not a good wife material, most times the guy ends up not getting married to her, but then again it do sent always turn out this way, many have gone down this path and have success stories to tell. If you have gotten to that stage of your relationship where you fell you need to move in with your partner, and you feel you are ready for it ask yourself this questions before committing 1: Are you ready to see this this face every mourning when you wake up each day?. 2: Are you ready for the fights?, cause trust me there is going to be lots of them. 3: Are you ready to show him that face without make up on it?. 4: Finally, are you ready to play house with a guy you are not yet married to?. If you have asked yourself this que

Five signs that your boyfriend is cheating on you

At one point in our relationship we've all suspected that our boyfriend is cheating, we try to play detective by checking his phone and stalking him. Well all that is over no all you need are this five signs to know 1: when he suddenly don't have time to listen to you talk. If he can't spear you a minute of his time, then sis he's either tired of hearing you talk or just cheating on you. 2: If he suddenly starts missing your calls and would not return them?, then sister he is done with you. 3: If he suddenly starts giving excuse on why he can't see you and starts cancelling on you. He is definitely cheating on you. 4: if he suddenly starts keeping late night's when he has no reason to, it's either he is a spy otherwise he is cheating on you. 5: Finally to all my sisters out there if your man stops having sex with you then am afraid OYO is your case.

Why do African parents over protect their female child

Growing up as a female child in an African home is not easy, the over protectiveness shown to we girl is something worth talking about. African parents believe that caging the female child makes her a responsible person, but that is not a determination to how a person would turn out. Let me tell you a little story, my best friend is the only girl among four boys, her parents are elders In their church. Growing up I was the only friend she had, she was always at home not being allowed to go out, and I was the only friend her parents allowed to visit her(that's because my parents were elders in the same church with them). The would always give her the excuse that she would get spoil out there. her brothers were so protective of her in school that no guy could come near her. To cut the long story short today my friend is no more, she died in her first year in the university after going clubbing with some friends. I personally am someone that believe everyone should be allowed to h

Should I end my relationship with him

Sophie is a young lady In her late 20s, Sophie is currently seeing a guy named Sam, and they have been together for two years now. Now the problem is the Sam is Sophie's best friends boyfriend, and for the past two years Sophie and Sam have being secretly seeing each other, and now Sophie is thinking of ending trelationship because it doesn't feel right anymore. Ok I know I said there are no rules for love, but girlfriend we are talking about your Betsy here, like who does that. This breaks the ultimate rule of friendship, though shall not steal the others partner. I mean if he can afford to cheat on her with her best, I wounder why he would not cheat on you too. Now this is what you do, you would go to your friend and confess, sure she would forgive you, then you would go and end things with Sam. Guys would always come and go, but would only be one best friend. Goodluck

Should I date my ex boyfriends best friend

This is a very tricky question, but then again in the game of love there are no rules . so your ex  best is asking you out and you don't know if to say yes or no. Now for you to be asking this question, you are probably thinking about it,and if you are thinking about it that means you are hoping that I would say. So he's tall, super hot, and he's doing all the things your ex didn't do, you want to date him but you are thinking about what people would say because he is your ex best. I can't tell you to date or not date, in fact no one can. You alone can make that decision. All I can say is follow your heart, if you feel he is the right one then go for it. Close your eyes and imagine that there is just the both of you in this would, no ask yourself if you are willing to face the world with him. Remember there are no rules involved.

Handling lack of admission in Nigeria

Every year millions of youth in Nigeria write jamb, hoping to get admitted to the University to further their studies, and every year thousands of youth get their hope crushed. No admission another year of staying at home. Your mates have all gone to school, your getting old,you feel frustrated and don't know what to do. After finishing my secondary school, I had to wait five years before getting into the University, and I must tell you it wasn't an easy wait. You start to wonder if ever you are going to get into the University.  There are certain things that  you can do to keep yourself busy and  your mind occupied while waiting. 1: get a hobby While you wait for jamb, learn to do something, it would keep your mind from thinking and add to your knowledge. 2: read books Even though you have not gotten admission yet you still need to keep reading, the longer you stay at home the easier it is for you to forget school things, but when you keep reading regardless of anythin

Dealing with rejection

Am sure we've all had that moment when we felt rejected, most especially by the onces we love. People just look at you and feel they know who you are, at home they disrespect you cause of your situation, in school no one would hang out with you probably because you are different, or even the society rejecting you cause they feel you don't belong. If you find yourself in anyone of this situations how do you deal with the pain of rejection. I heard a story of a young girl who committed suicide because no one would talk to her in school. Because she was an albino, everyone avoided her and would not come near her, she felt rejected and then commited suicide. It might be a guy or a girl that you have romantic feelings for but it is not being returned, you feel rejected. Rejection can come in different ways, now how do you handle it. Firstly you need to know that crying is not going to change or stop anything, it only creates a problem where there is none. What do you do then, th

A review the movie a trip to jamacia

The much anticipated movie, premiered in Lagos on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the filmhouse IMAX cinema in leink, Lagos. The movie was shot in Nigeria, American and Jamaica, and it features stars like Chris Attoj , Patoranking, Cynthia Morgan, Funke Akindele, and Ay. With so much noise being made about this movie, one would had expected a great turnout, but the opposite is the case, as this movie was a flop. Since I  never liked 30 days in Atlanta, I didn't expect this to be any different. This movie is a mediocre comedy movie, it didn't offer me any moment of laughter. As expected the movie has lots of flat jokes that makes it unexciting to watch. Nse ikpe Etims interpretation of her character Abigail was not convincing. As expected Ay interpretation of the akpors character was full of exaggeration. Am sure everyone was hoping for Funke Akindele to save the movie, but just like the rest of the character's her performers wasn't impressive. I didn't quite underst

"FAMILY FIRST BEFORE WORK" - oc ukeje

TOP nollywood actor, oc ukeje recently had a chat with accelerate tv and spoke on the high points of his career in nollywood, and how he is still learning to put family first over work.

THE RATE OF NUDITY IN AFRICAN MOVIES

The rate at which nudity has become rampant in our movies is becoming alarming. Back then growing up as a kid I comfortably watch a movie with my parents and gain positively from it, but our present generation has gone out of hand. The kind of movies that you see ever day on tv and in the market is nothing to write home about, one can't even differentiate a blue fillm from an ordinary one. I feel so sorry for our movie industries, cause we have lost our ways, we have gone from sharing our culture to the rest of the world to selling sex in movies. It is so bad that I have to preview a movie first before sharing it with my family members.

ACTOR OF THE DAY

Today we would be celebrating a lady who have paid her mark in the industry.A lady whose acting power cannot be contested, she takes anything given to her and turn it into something beautiful.I grew up watching this lady and I must say she has come a long way.I remember back then I use to think she was sick, because she was so slim.Am sure by now some of you already know who am talking about. It's the one and only "Kalsum Sinare".Staring in more than a dozen nollywood and Hollywood movies, she us an outstanding actress who can play any role excellently. One of my favorite movie of hers is Her Excellency. If you havent seen the movie well what can I say, she is my actor of the day

Nollywood or igbohood

For sometime now I have noticed that the movies that are being produced in nollywood especially the locally made OceaNA "aba made" are always centered on the igbo culture. Sometimes I find it difficult to differentiate an igbo movie from an ordinary Nigerian movie. The choice of language, the dressing,  and even the display of culture seems to be only around one side of the country, I mean there are so many ethnic groups in the country why center the industry around just one. Even tractors are not left out as most of the actors in nollywood are igbo speeking, and it's almost impossible for a different to be seen there. I think it's high time something is done about this.
